My name is Liam Belan, and I’m a Class of 2022 Sport & Adventure Media graduate from West Virginia University. Currently, I’m with the Mon Valley Independent as a Writer. With this experience, I have written my most extensive feature stories to date and made many new connections in the Mon Valley area (south of Pittsburgh). During my time in school, I did work for U92, our student radio station, as well as the Daily Athenaeum, our student newspaper. More specifically, I’ve done play-by-play and color commentary in the NCAA Tournament for WVU Men and Women’s Soccer as well as written pieces for Men and Women’s Soccer and Women’s Basketball among other things.
I’m an avid sports fan that will work relentlessly in order to better my material and create accurate, thought-provoking content through several mediums.
